In 2012, TeatroStageFest proudly announced the second International Cultural Engagement Partnership (ICEP) between Latino International Theater Festival of New York and: Social Service of Commerce (SESC) in São Paulo, Brazil; Teatro Mayor Julio Mario Santo Domingo in Bogota, Colombia; and Complejo Teatral de Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Under the vision of Susana Tubert, LITF/NY's Executive Director, ICEP 2012 featured the TeatroStageFest's South American tour of Amarillo, a multimedia and physical theater production by Mexico's acclaimed Teatro Linea de Sombra. Amarillo was presented in Bogota (Teatro Mayor Julio Mario Santo Domingo, Sept. 7 and 8), Santos (during the Mirada Iberian American Festival of Performing Arts on Sept. 11 and 12) and Buenos Aires (Complejo Teatral, on Sept. 15 and 16).

The ICEP Tour culminated in New York City on October 22 with the presentation of TeatroStageFest Conference: Latin American Cultural Leaders featuring Sandra Meluk, Programming Director of Teatro Mayor, Danilo Santos de Miranda, SESC-SP's Regional Director, and Alberto Ligaluppi, General Director of the Complejo Teatral de Buenos Aires. The conference was moderated by Margaret Ayers, President of the Robert Sterling Clark Foundation, principal funder of ICEP, and moderated by Patrick Pacheco, NY1 Onstage journalist.

About the International Cultural Engagement Partnership (ICEP)

In October 2010 a number of meetings were held between Margaret Ayers, President of the Robert Sterling Clark Foundation (RSCF), and Susana Tubert, Executive Director of the Latino International Theater Festival of New York, Inc. (LITF/NY), a non-profit organization that presents the annual TeatroStageFest. Their discussions centered on the need to create new networks for the advancement of cultural diplomacy that would enable artists in the United States to perform in other countries, especially in the underserved region of Latin America.

This being a key priority of the RSCF, Susana Tubert reached out to Danilo Santos de Miranda, Regional Director of SESC cultural centers in the state of São Paulo, and Brazil’s most visionary cultural leader. Mr. Miranda and Aurea Goncalves, International Advisor SESC-SP, had initiated discussions with Ms. Tubert on potential avenues of collaboration when they first met at the Iberian-American Mirada Theater Festival held in the city of Santos in early 2010. Eventually, a strategic institutional alliance took shape and thanks to the support of the Robert Sterling Clark Foundation, audiences in Brazil experienced the unique perspectives of New York Latino artists featured at TeatroStageFest in the Fall of 2011.

In 2012, through a second-year grant from The Robert Sterling Clark Foundation, the International Cultural Engagement Partnership expanded to other countries in Latin America, involving again SESC-SP, Brazil, and also forging new strategic alliances with Teatro Mayor Julio Mario Santo Domingo, Bogota, Colombia, and Complejo Teatral de Buenos Aires, Argentina.
